Archive Curiosity Fair Outline
Generic Public Blurb
Curiosity Fair is 4 days of experiences for building rapport with wild spaces and exploring creative potential. The focus is on kids 7-12, but folks of any age are welcome. However, we have limited capacity to host kids without guardians, so solo kids should contact us and reserve a space, first come first serve.
Dates and Times
- CF - Bloom June 18-21 10a - 4p
- CF - Growing July 18-21 10a - 4p
- CF - Harvest August 22-25 10a - 4p
Each day could have 3 x 2 hour sessions or 2 x 3 hour sessions, with several concurrent offerings OR one sequence of sessions. If there's only one sequence, then each monthly fair would have 8-12 different sessions, depending on session length. Knowledge sharers could commit to just one or several sessions. The ratio of kids to adults would not be greater than 4-1. Max capacity of any session would be determined by the knowledge sharers and available resources.
Money / Barter
For simplicity sake, we're currently thinking about this as a free event. If donations happen, we'd split eadh month evenly between the sharers after 5-10% for farm overhead. We'd note if any sessions were particularly donation friendly.
Curiosity Fair is currently being contemplated as a project of Love Farm Events, LLC. to handle insurance.

Vision / Aesthetic
Curiosity Fair is not a school, day care or camp. We are ultimately interested in developing a year round alternative to public school, our working title is a Self Education or Learning Center. Taking a page from award winning educator John Taylor Gatto, a Learning Center would not be designed to extend childhood, but rather facilitate a spectrum of life resources and responsibilities to inspire and liberate the imagination. The Curiosity Fair is an informal laboratory or workshop for knowledge sharers, kids, parents and our community to discover what might be fun, satisfying and doable.
