Synergistic Trifecta

Land Arts

Love Farm's founders and staff are artists - writers, painters, singers, filmmakers, dancers...  We believe that a human presence on the land can be beautiful and our participation in the nature, sublime. This is land art, a step beyond stewardship. We approach our responsibility as an aesthetic collaboration, tuned into the wild's desire, receptive to the whispers and hints that are everywhere.  We instantiate an auspicious future for all Earth people, four legged, finned, tool making, leafy, and microscopic. If we think of architecture as functional sculpture, then Land Art could be our grand collaborative thriving.

Wilds Resonance

The fundamental idea of Love Farm is Wilds Resonance, which means aligning with the innate intelligence of nature, or the life that thrives whether humans are around or not. On Love Farm we grow nutrient dense food inspired by permaculture while regenerating native ecosystems in our forests and fields. Both practices require attention to what the wilds want.

At 900 feet of elevation, Love Farm is the highest land in the local ecosystem. Our numerous fresh water springs feed two of Benzie County's most significant watersheds. Wilds resonance protects these waters, supporting the well being and economic prosperity of our neighbors. Everyone benefits from our aesthetic, residents and visitors, native and migratory.

Pleasure Research

What does it mean to be happy? How does it feel to be truly healthy? We believe appreciation is deliberate, and that joy is guidance. We celebrate life's zany pageant by discovering the delight hidden in every moment, whether we are transplanting tomatoes, organizing tools or sweeping out the barn. From the Gnostic gospel of Thomas,

"The kingdom of God is spread upon the Earth and man does not see it."

This giddy life adventure, rife with perils and heartbreak, triumphs and deep satisfaction is heaven, opines Thomas. Pleasure Research is Love Farm's path to the paradise of the here and now.

Hey Bonny, thanks for asking! We currently have several friends helping with growing and harvest. We are not yet set up for live / work, although we’d like to be. You’re welcome to visit and say hi. Saturday is our come to Love Farm day, if the gate is open we’re probably here. Learn about our protocols…
