Archive Outdoor Arts at Laughing Linden Farm Fall 2023

unnamed

An autumnal offering from Outdoor Arts:

WHO:

Children ages 3-5.  This gathering is designed for robust little ones who love being outside and engaging with the natural world, and who will benefit from group activities that honor their tender age and physical abilities.  With enough structure to create stability and a grounded place for littles, we have also built flexibility into each day to accommodate the children's fluctuating needs.
To provide quality care and attention to all kiddos, the group size will be capped at 10 little ones.
Note: We are accepting 2 year olds if they are out of diapers (during the day).

WHERE:

While Outdoor Arts is an effort that is generally based at Love Farm, this Fall offering will be hosted at Laughing Linden Farm on Raymond Road, Frankfort.  The exact address will be shared upon registration.  To learn more about Laughing Linden Farm, visit their website:  sacredearthlandscaping.com.  They have shared their amazing land with educational programs for children in the past, including their Forest & Frolic Kids Camp.

WHAT:

Together, we will deepen connection to self and the earth during this essential stage of learning.  What a great age to venture gently into the great outdoors with ample guidance and care!
The group will be guided to explore the living world with our weekly guest, Amalia Fernand.  Through crafting with nature materials, science experiments, and stories, she will introduce them to the season's animals, plants, and fungus, seeking these organisms out in their natural habitats and learning from their lives.
Sarah Alexander will focus on nurturing their bodies through methods such as intentional movement, skills for self care, the essentials of music, making and using instruments, and group singing.
Our small group will gather primarily outdoors with an indoor greenhouse space outfitted for table activities and floor time.
All children will require high quality outdoor gear to ensure they can stay dry and warm for hours in the elements of a Michigan autumn/early winter.

WHEN:

We will meet 9:30am to 4:30pm on the following dates:
  • October 19, 26
  • November 2, 9, 16, 30 (not meeting week of Thanksgiving)
  • December 7, 14

The extended care option will provide care until 5:30pm.

HOW:

Full registration will gain children access to 7 of the 8 program days.  This is a policy that builds in the likely missed day, whether due to illness or family travel, etc.

For families who would like to extend the day of care from 4:30 to 5:30pm, please select the extended care option during registration.

The registration options are:
Full Session - 7 of 8 days - 9:30am-4:30pm - $420 Total
Full Session with extended care - 7 of 8 days - 9:30-5:30 - $475 Total
For folks who end up using all 8 days, we will provide you with an invoice for the cost of that day ($60 plus extended care, if applicable).
